Account

To create an AHA account, follow these steps:

  1. Download the AHA app onto your device from the Apple or Google Play Store.

  2. Open your AHA app

  3. From the home screen, tap on any of the options.

  4. Sign up with either your email, Google, Apple, or Facebook account.

  5. You’re now ready to start understanding blood test results in AHA.

To start using AHA, you will need to create an account. Your account is a safe space where your blood test and health data is stored. You will be asked to set up a password, so that your account remains private to only you.

In case you lose your device or change devices, you can use your account to view your data.

Protecting your privacy and keeping your sensitive health data safe is at the core of everything we do. Check out our Privacy Policy for more information.

If you have set up your AHA account and have not received a verification email, follow these steps:

  1. Check to see if the verification email is in your spam folder.

  2. If it’s not, you may have mistyped your email address.

  3. Start over and create a new account.

If you still have not received a verification email after completing the steps above, contact our Support Team at support@AHealthAcademy.com and we will help you out.

If you can’t remember your password, or if you’re logged out of your account and need to reset your password, follow these steps:

  1. Open the AHA app.

  2. Tap on ‘Settings’ on the home screen.

  3. Tap ‘Reset password’.

  4. Enter your email address and tap ‘Submit’.

  5. Go to your email service and open the password reset email you were just sent. (Remember to do this on the device where you have downloaded the AHA app.)

  6. Tap ‘Reset your password’.

  7. Open the AHA app and choose a new password.

If you have more questions about resetting your password, please contact our Support Team at support@AHealthAcademy.com.

If you do not have access to the email registered on the AHA account and cannot remember your password, you will not be able to recover your account. We are only able to password reset emails to the email address that is registered to your AHA account.

Due to our commitment to protect your data, we only allow the account owner to access their account. We do this to comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If you have more questions about recovering your account, please contact our Support Team at support@AHealthAcademy.com.

AHA does not allow users to change email addresses, in accordance with privacy policies.

Data Privacy

We take data privacy seriously. We use secure data encryption and employ multiple layers of privacy protection internally, including:

  • Limiting employee access to identifiable personal health information, including name, health condition, contact information, test results, and treatments

  • Only collecting necessary information to provide you the services

  • Payment information is collected and handled by reputable payment processors (e.g. Stripe and PayPal) and are not stored with us

  • We do not sell any of your information

Protecting user data privacy is at the core of what we do. We strive to be better than industry standards and use the following data security practices:

  • When you create your AHA account, your personal data is stored separately from your health data and service settings. Doing this means your health data has an even higher level of protection.

  • When you create your AHA account password, it’s stored using one-way encryption with both “hashing” and “salting” techniques. This means your password is combined with a random string of characters and then scrambled so it remains unreadable. No one on the AHA staff has access to your password. This ensures extra protection for your password.

  • When data is sent between your device and AHA servers, we use hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS). This is a type of encrypted data transmission, which scrambles the information being sent so it’s unreadable. Doing this increases the security of data transfer.

  • When subscribing to AHA, all payment information is securely processed by the Apple App Store. AHA does not store payment information at any time.

For more details on data security, check out our Privacy Policy. If you still have questions about how AHA secures your data, feel free to contact our Support Team at support@AHealthAcademy.com.

We take user data privacy, security and compliance seriously, following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) created national standards in the United States (US) to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge. The law is designed to give users more control over how protected health information is used, disclosed, and shared. It also protects all individually-identifiable health information that is created, received, maintained, or transmitted in electronic form. Find out more about how AHA protects your personal health data in relation to HIPAA in our Privacy Policy.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the data protection law in the European Union (EU). The law is designed to give users more control over how internet services and companies collect and process personal data. It applies to all organizations who are located in the EU and who process personal data, as well as any organizations who process data of EU citizens. Find out more about how AHA processes your personal data in relation to the GDPR in our Privacy Policy.

If you have specific questions about our compliance-related practices and policies, feel free to contact our Support Team at support@AHealthAcademy.com

AHA’s Privacy Policy is a legal document which explains how we process your personal data. You will find detailed information on what data we process, your rights, data security, data transfer, and more.

App Settings

AHA will only allow users with a birth date at least 18 years ago to register an account. Minors will need a parent or legal guardian to register for an account to use AHA services. Please note that blood tests for anyone under the age of 18 yers old at the time of the blood test will not be interpreted.

Blood test results and interpretations vary significantly for adults versus minors. In an abundance of caution, AHA will only interpret blood tests for when the users were at least 18 years old.

At this time, AHA only accepts blood tests in English.

If the blood test uses nonconventional units, you may need to convert the units manually. In order to convert units, AHA recommends searching on Google for unit converter calculators with the following text: “convert [insert metric] to [insert AHA metric].” For example, “convert mmol to mg/dl”. An example of a medical unit converter website is endmemo.com.

If you would like to see your connections:

  1. Click on ‘Settings’ on the AHA app home screen.

  2. You will now be able to see anyone who can view your reports under ‘Review Connections.’

  3. If you are only using AHA to view someone else’s reports, you will not be able to see who else has access to the person’s reports.

If you would like to invite someone else to see your report:

  1. Click on ‘Settings’ on the AHA app home screen.

  2. You will now be able to see anyone who can view your reports under ‘Review Connections’.

  3. Click on ‘+ Add Others’ to invite someone to view your report.

  4. Then add their email addresses and click ‘Share’.

  5. Provide consent to share and an email invitation will be sent to the recipient.

There is no limit to the number of people you can share your report with.

On the home screen, click on Review Blood Test Reports. Blood tests that are shared with you will be visible and grouped by individual.

Each person who uses AHA has to create an account whether they are sharing blood test results, viewing someone else’s report without tracking any data themselves, or mutually sharing and viewing reports.

If you do not have access to view someone else’s blood test report, follow these simple steps:

  1. Ask the person to share their reports with you.

  2. They would have to open the AHA app and click on ‘Settings’ on the AHA app home screen.

  3. They will now be able to see anyone who can view their reports under ‘Review Connections’.

  4. They would have to click on ‘+ Add Others’ to invite you to view their report.

  5. They would then add your email address and click ‘Share’.

  6. Once they consent to sharing with you, an email invitation will be sent to you.

As new versions of Android and iOS operating systems are released, support of older versions are ended. This ensures that new releases of the AHA app are compatible with the latest versions of Android and iOS.

The AHA app can only support the latest Android and iOS version and the prior two versions at the same time. If your AHA app is not updating, it could be that your device’s Android or iOS version is no longer supported.

By updating your Android or iOS version, you will be able to use the newest version of the AHA app. To update your system, follow these steps:

  • Open ‘Settings’ on your device.

  • Tap ‘General’.

  • Tap ‘Software Update’.

  • A new version should appear, ready for download. Tap ‘Download & Install’.

  • Once downloaded, you can then update your AHA app via the App Store.

  • If you decide not to update your operating system, you can still use the AHA app. You can keep your account and all of your tracked data, however you won’t see any new features or updates in the app.

If you have more questions about AHA and the operating system, please contact our Support Team at support@AHealthAcademy.com.

The price of the AHA app varies depending on region. This means when you subscribe, the price will be determined by the region and currency of your device’s app store. If you want to see how much you paid previously, you will need to check the receipt you were sent from the Apple or Android App Store.

We want the app to be accessible and affordable for all people who use AHA. If you have questions about how much AHA costs in your region, feel free to contact our Support Team.

The payments for your AHA subscription are directly managed by the Apple or Android App Store. This means that you will be directly charged by Apple or Google, respectively.

Your subscription will automatically renew every month (30 days) after your initial subscription started. You’ll be charged by the App Store within 24 hours before the renewal date.

In order to close your account:

  1. Click on ‘Settings’ on the AHA app home screen.

  2. Scroll down to ‘Close Account’ and click on the ‘Close Account’ button. Once you confirm, your account will be closed.

Once you close your account, you will no longer have access to your reports. You will not be able to access AHA without creating a new account, and you will need to upload all of your blood tests again. You will lose access to shared reports. People you have shared reports with will also lose access to those reports.

In terms of cancellations, AHA is unable to assist because of Apple’s and Google’s Terms of Service. You will need to cancel your subscription directly through their service.

Because of Apple’s and Google’s Terms of Service, AHA is unable to assist with refund requests. You will need to request a refund directly through their service. Please follow the steps at: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 or https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637.

If your refund is approved, be aware that refunds can take several days to be processed depending on your bank.
